We are excited to report that the 14th of September 2025 marked the successful finale of the Second Sofia Numismatic School which was held between the 10th and 14th September 2025 in Deultum (Burgas region) Bulgaria. The archaeological base at the ancient Roman colony hosted an international team of highly acclaimed scholars, researchers, and students from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Poland, the UK and Bulgaria. They took an active part in the intense schedule of lectures and workshops, covering many aspects of ancient coinage, with a focus on Thrace and the Black Sea region. The event provided students with unlimited opportunities to delve into the world of ancient coins and created a friendly networking environment, which we hope will last for years to come. We believe that the Organising Committee and our friends at the archaeological base in Deultum did our best to create the background, necessary for a vivid and thrilling experience, which will set the standards for future events such as this.
