За конференцията

Изследванията на Античността в българската историческа наука имат дълга традиция още с основаването на Софийски университет през 1888. За съжаление трябва да признаем, че те са лишени в значителна степен от научния дебат по отношение на теоретичната и методологическа рамка. Новото хилядолетие добави към традиционните дисциплини на историята, археологията, нумизматиката и епиграфиката други ключови аспекти на интердисциплинарния подход, като археометричните изследвания и дигиталната хуманитаристика. Изхождайки от тази принципна основа, екипът на проект „Древна Тракия в цифри“ (КП-06-Н50/3 от 30.11.2020) организира международна научна конференция на тема:

“Изследванията на Древна Тракия между традиционност и модерност: теоретични аспекти и научна методология”

Домакин на събитието е Исторически факултет на Софийски университет „Св. Климент Охридски“ с поканени участници по ключови теми.

Конференцията има за цел да провокира научния дебат по отношение на традиционните и нови методологически подходи при изучаването на Античността и в частност на древна Тракия. Дискусията ще бъде иновативна за България и изследванията на тракийската антична история, доколкото след конципирането на тракологията като историческа дисциплина в началото на 70те години на ХХ век такива целенасочени разисквания не са провеждани в българските исторически среди. Акцент в конференцията ще бъде поставен върху влиянието на дигиталната ера за разбирането и интерпретацията на древна Тракия. Ще бъдат провокирани дискусии относно теорията и методологията в четирите ключови дисциплини на историческото познание – антична история, археология, нумизматика, епиграфика, но също така и в археометричните изследвания, и тяхната връзка с дигиталните технологии.

Част от конферентната програма и дискусиите е уъркшоп, посветен на античните фалшификати.

Самостоятелен уъркшоп е посветен на постигнатите резултати в проекта „Древна Тракия в цифри“ и бъдещото развитие на тракологията в дигитална среда.
